Sonia and Hoffman Ramos recently moved to West Point Gardens, and they are among the several buyers who have opted for one-level living in the Ashwood ranch.
“We moved from a ranch in the Elgin area that had become too large for us, but was ideal for our son and his growing family,” Sonia said. “We bought a three-story townhome where we could be close to our son and three grandchildren but we soon decided that we really preferred to live in a one-level home.
“Our home at West Point Gardens is the seventh or eighth home we have owned, so we have a good understanding of the home buying process. We looked at another ranch in the area, but we found that the sales staff at West Point Gardens was more willing to work with us and make the changes we desired. We were able to tour the Ashwood under construction which gave us the chance to walk through the home, mentally place our belongings and feel confident about our choice,” she said.
The Ashwood ranch in the Classic Series is a three-bedroom, two-bath home with a partial basement, covered front porch and two-car attached garage. It features a light, airy floor plan, with an open expanse including the kitchen, breakfast area and great room with sliding glass doors to the yard. The kitchen boasts abundant cabinet and counter space, and the nearby laundry/utility room opens to the garage.
The master suite is separated from the other bedrooms by the living area, and includes a large walk-in closet and compartmented bath with double-bowl vanity. Two other bedrooms are served by a hall bath. The Ashwood is priced from $269,990.
“We chose vaulted ceilings throughout the living area, 42-inch kitchen cabinets and granite countertops, hardwood flooring in the kitchen and foyer as well as the upgraded master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower,” Sonia said. “The staff at West Point Gardens worked with us on our request to reposition the kitchen sink and dishwasher to make it easier for me to watch my three young grandchildren.
“We also opted for a full basement which we intend to finish in the future, and we were the first ranch buyers to add the full covered front porch that extends across the front of the home. It is just beautiful, and a great place to serve treats to the grandchildren. We’ve noticed that many other ranch buyers are also adding the extended front porch since they can see how wonderful our porch is.”
Sonia and Hoffman are delighted with their new home and its location with easy access to Meier Park.
“We’re very happy with our home and the neighborhood. There are young families here as well as retired couples like us, and the park is always busy with both adults and children, so we can take the grandchildren to the park and they can find other children to play with,” she said. “Best of all, we’re only a mile away from our son and his family.”
The customer service offered at West Point Gardens made the purchasing experience smooth and pleasant for Sonia and Hoffman.
“Of all the homes we’ve purchased over the years, the service we received at West Point Gardens was the most responsive, prompt and detailed throughout the entire process.”
